| PROTECTIONS |
1.AGAINST
INDIRECT CONTACT:
Due to internal fault or insulationfailure metal
enclosure of Electric appliances can become
live and cause electric shock to unwary
persons touching them ELCBs trip instaneously and thus
exclude possible risk from dangerous indirect contact. |
|
3.EARTHING
AGAIN
CORROSION :
Earth-leakage currents of higher magnitude cause
corrosion through electrolysis. The insertion of ELCBs in
the circuit ensures that the earthling remains intact
|
2.AGAINSTDIRECTCONTACT:
Accidental Contact with "live
parts " of Electric appliances causesearth-leakage currents
to flow through human body result in shocks that prove to
be fatal.ELCBs trip under these conditions also prevent fatalities. |
4.PROTECTION
AGAINSTELECTRIC FIRE :
Earth leakage currents of 50 mA and above electric sparks
which can spread into major fire such leakage are quickly
detected by ELCBs causing them to trip |
